Hi, my name is Maja Jankowska
I am a CBT therapist (accredited by Cognitive British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy). I am also a Chartered Psychologist accredited by British Psychological Society. You can find me on the registers of both of these professional bodies. I have completed the first stage of Brief Solution Focused Therapy training and I tend to emphasise solution focus in my practice.
I have worked with people presenting with a range of psychological problems as well as those who wanted to learn, develop and grow as individuals (for their own and others’ benefit). My experience includes working in mental health care within NHS and private practice.
I am also a teacher and trainer, passionate about teaching and raising standards of psychology, therapy and counselling (within my role as a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and External Examiner for psychology and psychotherapy university
My approach is collaborative – we work together to help you understand your difficulties as well as strengths in order to design the treatment that works best for you and empowers you to make positive changes in your life. The service I offer is confidential, respectful and client-centred.
I am guided by the latest research in CBT and generally psychology and psychotherapy as I strive to update and develop my practice regularly. I am also experienced in psychology teaching and research. I have published papers in international peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters and presented my work at conferences world-wide.
